The Beer of the People.

When Ale Asylum wants to launch a dark beer, that art better be pitch black — or heads will roll.*

*No heads were removed in the making of this art.

These twin imperial stouts joined the Ale Asylum lineup briefly in the summer of 2015, limited to 1,000 22oz two-bottle sets that sold like the dark and delicious ambrosia it was.

The beers are near clones of each other, with the exception of their yeast sources: Impending Dissent is fermented with Belgian yeast, while Impending Descent is fermented with English. As such, they’ve been designed to be seen side-by-side, depicting the rise of discontent and eventual fall of tyranny.

The launch party was held at Ale Asylum’s east side HQ, and featured a set by the Reverend Horton Heat hisself.
